Help Out at a Candidate Forum

The League of Women Voters is respected nationwide for conducting fair and nonpartisan candidate forums. It takes a lot of time and planning to put together a well-executed League of Women Voters candidate forum, and we have volunteer opportunities both for League members and for non-members.

Whether you are an aspiring event planner, a candidate liaison, a greeter, a question screener, a time-keeper, or a trained League moderator, your time and talents are welcome and appreciated!

Serve as a Poll Watcher During Elections

Poll watchers have an important role to play in ensuring safe and fair elections. Poll watchers are credentialed volunteers who visit polling stations, monitor the election process, make note of any issues, and take proper steps to report problems as appropriate. The League provides poll watchers with credentials during Early Voting, on Election Day, and during the processing of Vote by Mail ballots.

Serve as a Kane County Election Judge

Judges of Election are paid by the Kane County Clerk to manage polling sites and assist voters. Any U.S. Citizen aged 16 or older may serve as an election judge after receiving appropriate training. Unemployed individuals who serve as judges will not jeopardize their unemployment benefits. There may also be paid positions available for the months leading up to the election.
